Web Surfing Studios is a completely free, non-monetized community of developers and engineers who come together to receive structured mentoring and work on real-world projects. Our members come from all backgrounds—college students, graduates, bootcamp alumni, and self-taught tech enthusiasts—but share a common goal: gaining practical experience to take the next step in their careers.
Unlike college or bootcamps, our program is dramatically different: we don’t focus on teaching foundational concepts like data structures or algorithms. Instead, we dive straight into practical application. We expect members to come in with a basic to advanced understanding of core programming concepts, and we support them in applying that knowledge to real, professional software development.
We teach junior and mid-level developers by working on actual products using enterprise-grade tools and industry-standard workflows. Our program mirrors the structure of a real software company, and the goal is to strengthen both skills and portfolios through meaningful, hands-on experience.
After completing our self-paced training (see Program), members contribute in their spare time to collaborative projects—gaining experience that directly translates to the workplace. Many of our alumni have landed jobs or secured promotions based on what they built and learned here.
Our team lead, who has worked at some of the largest companies in the world building large-scale systems, is passionate about mentoring and sharing industry knowledge. We only ask for a few hours of your time each week, and in return, we offer a unique opportunity to grow alongside a team of talented, driven developers.
Footnote: Web Surfing Studios is a passion project run by our team lead during evenings and weekends. None of the projects we build are monetized, and no money is exchanged for participation. While we operate like a professional software team—building real, live websites using industry-standard tools and practices—the absence of financial incentives allows us to stay focused on what matters most: learning, growth, and community.
From beginner to advanced, we cover C#, web development, databases, cloud platforms, and more. Our curriculum equips you with the practical tech skills needed to thrive in the software industry.
Go beyond code. Learn project management, version control, CI/CD, and other core practices used in modern software teams. You'll gain hands-on experience with tools and workflows used in the field.
Work on real projects that simulate actual industry scenarios. Every contribution is something you can showcase—demonstrating your skills and initiative to potential employers.
There’s always fresh material to explore and new projects to bring to life.
Our program is thoughtfully designed to take developers from foundational knowledge to advanced topics in a clear, guided progression.
Lessons and support are tailored to your individual goals and interests—helping you focus on the areas that matter most to you.
Participants quickly level up—many are building and deploying their own web apps within just a few weeks.
While Web Surfing Studios does not directly secure job placements, members develop strong resumes and interview skills, positioning them to land some of the best opportunities in the industry.
